Spotted on the steps of The Met: Meghan Markle doing her best to fit in with fashion’s elite.
We’re less than a month away from the official start of Megxit, but a new report in The Sun claims the Duchess’ “first Hollywood appearance” will be at this year’s Met Gala on May 4.

According to the publication, the 38-year-old has been invited to attend the annual bash with British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful. You may recall the two previously collaborated for the September 2019 issue of the mag when Meg served as a guest editor. This year’s theme is based on Virginia Woolf‘s Orlando, and we can expect to see Archie Harrison‘s momma decked out in a “glamorous androgynous” look.
An insider explained to the outlet:
“The Met Gala is for the Who’s Who of show business. Naturally, Meghan was one of the first names on the guest list, and Edward’s team are excited that the two will go together.”
The source continued:
“Meghan is keen to step out occasionally without Harry so that she can establish herself once more in Hollywood.”
Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex apparently has even bigger dreams outside of rubbing elbows with the fashion industry, and they would take her back on the big screen! Per a DailyMail source, Miz Markle is working with her agent to land new gigs, and one prospect on the horizon is a superhero flick! A confidant divulged to the outlet:
“Meghan is planning a series of meetings in Hollywood. She has already done the voice-over for Disney and now the word is out that she’s looking for a superhero film, as a voice-over or even on screen.”
The insider added:
“She knows she can’t carry a film as an actress. People won’t be able to get past the fact she’s Meghan Markle. But she’s determined to act again and she thinks a big, ensemble film is the way to go… something that pays big but which doesn’t put her front and centre.”
Very inneresting!!
The reasoning is definitely there, now it’s just up to execs to cast her. The source explained:
“Pretty much every A-list actress including Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba, Margot Robbie, Jennifer Lawrence and Halle Berry have starred in superhero movies. There used to be a certain stigma attached to Marvel films but now they are the biggest market in the world. That’s what Meghan wants.”
