Meghan Markle has a REALLY big year ahead in 2018, but if she’s anything like the Suits actress who used to run the now-defunct blog The Tig, well, her New Year’s Resolutions for tomorrow will be exactly the same as they were year after year after year before now!
According to The Telegraph, a January 1, 2016 blog post on Markle’s old site The Tig lays out a very specific list of New Year’s Resolutions for 2016 — and confirms, from Markle directly, that those are her resolutions every year.
So if you wanted to guess what she’s trying to accomplish in 2018…

In the blog post from almost exactly two years ago, Markle writes that the same few resolutions “make my New Year’s resolution list nearly (AKA actually every) single year,” despite the fact that, well, she still hasn’t achieved any one of ’em!
And — drumroll please — those resolutions are (below):
“Run a marathon. Stop biting my nails. Stop swearing. Re-learn French … The marathon hasn’t happened. The swearing comes in lulls triggered by being overworked or feeling mighty cheeky after a couple drinks. Then there’s the French ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ a language I studied through high school and then lost as I immersed myself in speaking Spanish with the Argentinians during my stint in Buenos Aires. I have put my little Rosetta Stone headset in my eager ears every year, resolving to do interviews en fran├â┬ºais, but much to my chagrin, it hasn’t stuck … [The nail biting] still happens with a turbulent flight or a stressful day. It’s unladylike. But then again, so is the swearing. Dammit.”
Wow!!! Who knew Meghan Markle was such a swear-word aficionado?!
Also, who knew she was using the word ‘cheeky’ two full years ago?? Inneresting…

Anyways, she continued in that old blog (below):
“My nails will be fine, and if I toss out a four-letter word once in a blue moon, well frankly I think it adds character … For this new year, the only thing I aim to do is to approach life playfully. To laugh and enjoy, to keep my standards high but my level of self-acceptance higher. My New Year’s resolution is to leave room for magic. To make my plans, and be okay if they sometimes break. To set my goals, but to be open to change. To let the magic know that there is an open door policy with me in 2016 and that it is always welcome to join the party. I invite you to do the same.”
There you have it — nothing like quitting all the fuckin’ swearing AND leaving room for magic in the same year!!! LOLz!!!
Obviously, Markle’s resolutions may be drastically different in 2018 considering the interesting year ahead for her, but as far as old resolutions go, this should give you a pretty good idea!!
