Megyn Kelly In Talks With NBC Over 'Imminent Departure' & Reported $50 Million Settlement!

Megyn Kelly is said to be settling with NBC on Friday over the cancelation of her daytime TV show, Megyn Kelly Today, following her controversial blackface comments.
Per TMZ, the 47-year-old and her attorney, Bryan Freedman, are looking at close to a $50 million payout… or they’ll sue! This is slightly different than what other sources reported on Thursday — that she made a non-break deal when signing at the network, and is said to be walking away with her full $69 Million — but we digress.

Now, if the new TMZ source is accurate, here’s where the $50 mill number comes from. The TV personality had a firm three-year contract with the network, which came out to about $23 million per year. With just a year and 10 months left, they’re supposedly looking to get her full remaining salary!
This is now said to be part of her negotiations to exit from the network altogether, as one NBC News source close to the situation divulged it’s “extremely unlikely” she’ll stay.
Execs will also have to decide whether the star will be receiving the payout, or if she breached her contract with the network.

Megyn and her attorney will plan to argue that she was treated with “gross unfairness” in regards to her insensitive comments, citing Joy Reid‘s homophobic blog post controversy before starting at MSNBC. The TV host also believes she had a target on her back after making comments about Matt Lauer‘s sexual harassment scandal following his firing! On top of that, she thinks her remarks about NBC News Chairman Andy Lack pissed off some execs.
Seemingly turned down for a face-to-face meeting also involving Ronan Farrow, we’re sure this will all be brought up on Friday’s phone call with her reps and the NBC team. Interestingly enough, the Today show has already tweeted today about Megyn’s “imminent departure,” writing:
