Mel Gibson Celebrates John Lennon's Death? Nasty Claims Made, Mel Responds!

mel gibson john lennon letter
Wow! We forgot so much hate was possible!!
Now that Mel Gibson and Warner Bros have rejected Joe Eszterhas‘s script for The Maccabees, he’s lashing back!
In a ranting nine-page letter, the Showgirls scribe makes horrible claims against Mel, saying he used to celebrate the death of peace-loving John Lennon!!
Joe asserts Mel once told him things like:

I’m glad he’s dead. He deserved to be shot. He was f**king messianic. Listen to his songs! Imagine. I hate that f**king song. I’m glad he’s dead.

Ugh!! Srsly??? We hope that’s not true, but if it is… someone needs to get over themselves!!
Oh and Joe didn’t stop there!! He continues on about Mel using words like “jewboy,” and he also said Mel hated Oksana Grigorieva so much, he wanted to “f**k her in the *ss while stabbing her!”
Umm… excuse us while we throw up…
Sigh. SO! What does The Beaver puppeteer have to say back???
Well clearly everything Joe says is an “utter fabrication,” says Mel, and while he doesn’t address every claim in the letter, he does apologize for a heated moment they once shared during a Maccabees meeting at his house:

I will acknowledge like most creative people I am passionate and intense. I was very frustrated that when you arrived at my home at the expense of both Warner Brothers and myself you hadn’t written a single word of a [Maccabees] script or even an outline after 15 months of research, meetings, discussions and the outpouring of my heartfelt vision for this story. I did react more strongly than I should have. I promptly sent you a written apology, the colorful words of which you apparently now find offensive. Let me now clearly apologize to you and your family in the simplest of terms.

BUT WHAT ABOUT JOHN LENNON??? WHAT ABOUT THAT BEATLE???
And more importantly, what about Oksana????
She has no comment. But we have oneGROSS!!
