Melania Trump, Model Turned Jewelry Designer?

Move over Ivanka, step-momma Melania is taking over.

We mentioned before that Ivanka Trump was helping to design a line of contemporary footwear. The Donald‘s daughter even has a line of fine jewelry.

But now it’s Melania Trump‘s turn to try and profit off her famous last name.

The former model is launching her own line of costume jewelry and is doing so with QVC.

We would have imagined she’d go the high-end route as well, but guess she wants to appeal to the masses by making her jewelry more affordable. Smart move.

Melania’s line, called Melania Timepieces & Jewelry, will debut on QVC this April 30th and will feature costume jewelry such as cocktail rings, necklaces, gold-tone watches, crystals, and more.

Says the hottie about her latest venture:

“I├óΓé¼Γäóm proud to debut my collection of premium, affordable timepieces and jewelry, and make it available to millions of women across the country through such a fantastic partnership.

My passion in design and fashion leads me to [jewelry design].

I have some of the biggest jewelry├óΓé¼┬ª.I don├óΓé¼Γäót want to name [the brands], but I have many of them. It├óΓé¼Γäós designed from my heart, from my view and from my private collection. I didn├óΓé¼Γäót look at designers out there.├óΓé¼┬¥”

As for price, her line retails for less than $200. Not too bad.

She adds, “It’s something you can wear wherever you go. For example, if you have a business meeting or if you play with your child.”

Let’s hope the jewelry looks good.
