Melanie Martinez is going through it right now — the subject of a rape allegation from her former best friend Timothy Heller, Martinez enraged fans a few days ago with a tepid, unacceptable response to thorough allegations.
And now, on Saturday night, the artist released a new statement trying to amend her old words and push back against the accusations once again.

Her team released this statement to outlets including our own, and Martinez also posted it to her official Twitter account (below):
“I understand how hard it could be to see my side of the story, considering no one with a heart would want to invalidate anyone speaking up about this topic. I want to thank my fans who took the time to research the timeline, analyze past Instagram photos, and question the story being told, which reveal her false statements. I trusted so many people in my life who took advantage of that trust for their own personal gain. Please know that my intentions with everything that I do in my life are always pure and I would never be intimate with someone without their absolute consent.”
Considering her accuser has been very vocal about standing by those initial allegations, and the fact that her now-former fans aren’t afraid to destroy all their Melanie Martinez shit very publicly and loudly… who knows how this statement will go over with those she’s trying to win back.
