Well, this is interesting!
A recent study from the Body Image journal surveyed a group of 1,000 men and women to rate the level of attraction to a series of images of the female body. In each photograph, the legs had been either shortened or lengthened slight to alter the leg-to-body ratio, but keeping the overall height the same. The men were asked to weigh in on how attractive each image was, while women were asked to predict what the male response would be.
Contrary to the female projections, overall, men preferred women with normal sized legs, in proportion to the rest of their body.
This surprised even the researchers, who anticipated men preferring women with longer legs.
By this reasoning, men would find many of the world’s “beautiful people” less attractive than the rest of us average joes.
We also have to wonder whose photographs they were using.
Still, very interesting!
