Mexican Singer Dies After Clearing Up False Reports Of His Death

This is just so bizarre, creepy, and tragic.
Mexican musician Sergio “El Shaka” Vega was killed in a shooting Saturday night, after spending the prior afternoon clearing up false rumors that he was dead.
The 40 year old singer was known to sing about Mexico’s drug cartel culture, and apparently was targeted by rival drug barons.
He told the press on Saturday:

“It’s happened to me for years now. Someone tells a radio station or a newspaper I’ve killed, or suffered an accident.”

So awful. Our thoughts are with his family during this time.
