Mexican Singer Kalimba Released, Rape Case Dismissed

We sincerely hope that this was the right call. An innocent man deserves the right to walk free, but we’d hate to think he committed such a heinous crime and didn’t pay for it.
Mexican singer Kalimba was released today after a judge ruled there wasn’t enough evidence of convicting him of rape. Last week, Kalimba was deported back to Mexico to face the charge of raping a 17-year-old girl in a hotel back in December. He maintained his innocence, but refused to divulge if he had had any kind of sexual relationship with this girl.
That sounds a little suspicious to us, but if the evidence wasn’t there to convict him, we guess there isn’t much that can be done.
Geez. We wonder how many rapists haven’t answered for their crime for just that reason? Shame.
