On Wednesday, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office declined to press felony domestic abuse charges against Michael Avenatti.
As we reported, last week, Stormy Daniels‘ lawyer was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence related to an incident with onetime girlfriend, Mareli Miniutti.

Miniutti accused the lawyer of physical and verbal abuse, and was granted a temporary restraining order against him on Monday.
Avenatti went on Twitter and issued the following statement regarding the district attorney’s office’s decision:
However, Miniutti’s attorney — Michael Bachner — believes the case will be charged as a misdemeanor by the city attorney. He said:
“Although we are disheartened by the decision of the District Attorney’s Office, we are not necessarily surprised by it. We are confident, however, that the city attorney, upon review of the facts, will determine that the misdemeanor charge is appropriate. It’s fully warranted.”
For now, Avenatti can enjoy his Thanksgiving.
