Seattle Seahawks star Michael Bennett was just trying to enjoy the Mayweather–McGregor fight like everyone else the weekend of August 26.
Tragically, he found himself in a terrifying situation at the hands of Las Vegas police. According to the 31-year-old defensive end, he was innocently walking back to his hotel that Saturday night when cops wrongfully singled him out after gunshots were heard in the area.

In an open letter posted to Twitter on Wednesday morning, he wrote:
