Daddy does right!
Michael Douglas‘s son Cameron‘s lengthy stay in solitary confinement during his prison sentence has finally stopped, and it actually may have ended a little while ago!
One of Cameron’s most vocal advocates from the Drug Policy Alliance was Anthony Papa who was the one who finally spilled the beans!
He recently said:
“It’s true. That’s what I heard. It actually happened a little while back. I’m not sure of the exact date.”
Cameron had been stuck in solitary confinement at Maryland’s Cumberland Federal Corrections Institute for a little less than two years after he was caught with drugs while in prison.
The A list actor’s son was sentenced back in 2009 for five years for conspiracy to distribute narcotics, and then had his sentenced extended another four-and-a-half years in 2011 for the aforementioned violation.
Cameron’s dad made a passionate speech for his son at the Emmys, and later explained what was driving him bonkers about his son’s situation.
A few weeks after that speech, Michael Douglas started a petition in the hope of visiting his son in prison, but deleted the online petition later on. We guess he didn’t want it to seem he was asking for his boy to receive special treatment.
However we guess something worked because Cameron is now free from solitary confinement! Although we’re not sure if he’ll be able to see his old man in the near future.
Anthony Papa said:
“I’m not sure if they will be allowed to visit, but Cameron is out of solitary.”
Well, that’s a good start!
Props to Michael Douglas for taking care of his baby boy. Hopefully once Cameron is out of prison, his dad will be able to help him get a new lease on life.
Everyone deserves another chance!
