More than 75 days after his death, Michael Jackson was finally laid to rest Thursday night in The Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale.
The event was attended by 200 close family and friends including: Macaulay Culkin and girlfriend Mila Kunis, Corey Feldman, Quincy Jones, Lisa Marie Presley, Chris Tucker and Elizabeth Taylor.
An outdoor ceremony was held adjacent to the King of Pop’s final resting place.
Once again, his five brothers carried the gold plated casket to the ceremony. And, in a touching moment before the ceremony began, his children Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket placed a crown on top of their father’s casket.
Pastor Lucius Smith delivered the opening prayer, followed by Gladys Night, who lent her voice to sing the gospel hymn ├óΓé¼┼ôHis Eye Is on the Sparrow”. Songwriter Clifton Davis sang The Jackson 5 song which he wrote, Never Can Say Goodbye.
During the ceremony, attendees including his father, Joe Jackson, longtime family friend Rev. Al Sharpton, and others came to the podium to speak and celebrate Michael’s life.
At the end of the ceremony, the Jackson brothers carried the casket one last time into The Great Mausoleum.
Hopefully, after all this time, The King of Pop will be able to rest in peace.
