A Protest Is Planned For The Dallas Cowboys First Game Because Of The Michael Sam Signing!

We can’t say we’re surprised, but we’re absolutely disappointed.
After being cut by the St. Louis Rams, Michael Sam was signed to the Dallas Cowboys practice team earlier this week.
But some Texas residents aren’t happy about the openly gay player being on their roster.
A protest has been planned, though no organization has officially attached their name to it, where thousands of right-wing Christians are expected to show up outside of AT&T Stadium on Sunday during the game to protest signing Sam.
According to reports, people have been calling into radio station 105.3 The Fan, saying ridiculous things like:

“I don’t want my kids looking up to me and say Daddy, what does that mean that he’s gay?”

Umm, WHAT?! There’s nothing wrong with being gay, and it’s something children should absolutely know about, otherwise we’ll never get any closer to people being equal. Also, if Sam is on the field, they’re going to be talking about his performance, since he’s an underdog already, not where he and his boyfriend are going to dinner.
ESPN already made the mistake of treating him differently, and have since apologized.
Besides all of that, Sam is on the PRACTICE team, meaning he won’t see game time on Sunday anyway!
Some people really need a reality check!
