We thought magazines learned their lesson about racism after Rihanna was called a “n****bitch“, but apparently Spanish mag, Fuera de Serie, didn’t since they’ve depicted Michelle Obama as a nude slave.
WTF?!?!?
The Photoshopped image was taken from a series of “Famous Nudes” by artist Karine Percheron-Daniels, who superimposed MObama’s face onto the nekked body of Marie-Guillemine Benoist‘s Portrait d├óΓé¼Γäóune n├â┬⌐gresse.
Brande Victorian of Madame Noire is appalled by Michelle’s racist Photoshop mess:
├óΓé¼┼ôBy choosing to use such a jarring image to tell the story of how America├óΓé¼Γäós first lady ‘seduced the people of the United States’ and ‘stole the heart of Barack Obama,’ as Fuera de Serie describes her, it’s clear the magazine agrees with that mentality and wants to spread the message loud and clear: todav├â┬¡a estamos esclavos. We are still slaves.├óΓé¼┬¥
However, Perchon-Daniels has a different view of her “art:”
“With my art, and particularly with my ‘famous nudes’ series I try to offer an alternative unexpected reality to allow the viewer to re-examine his unique subjective experience and general understanding and view the world and people in a different way.├óΓé¼┬¥
It’s one thing to Photoshop someone on to a cover a la Kate Middleton, but this is downright wrong and disturbing.
