Michelle Trachtenberg Had The Coolest Plans Before Her Tragic Death

Michelle Trachtenberg Had Plans To Go To SXSW Film Festival Before Tragic Death

Michelle Trachtenberg was looking toward the future — and making really cool plans before she died.

The actress’ last credit is a documentary on mental illness called Spyral. The Gossip Girl alum read excerpts from the diary of Michelle Cody White in the film, Randy White‘s late wife who suffered from bipolar disorder. She did her voice acting with the doc due to premiere in 2021, but due to the pandemic it was pushed back until 2024. You can see the trailer (below):

According to producer Jennifer Hutchins, she was set to appear at a screening before she tragically passed. That meant she was going to attend a major film festival!

Jennifer spoke to TMZ and said the movie is going to have a special benefit screening at SXSW on March 12 to raise money for mental health nonprofits. Michelle was supposed to attend the Austin, Texas fest either in person or through Zoom if she wasn’t feeling well. So clearly the production knew she was struggling with some health issues — but even then her death came as such a shock. Just like the rest of us…

Spyral‘s crew said the screening will go on as planned without the actress, and they’re going to do their best to honor her memory at the event.

It’s so heartbreaking to hear Michelle was still making plans right up until the end. She really didn’t know this was coming any more than the rest of us…
