Holy shiz!
We didn’t realize that there was such behind-the-scenes drama back in the day, but we’re just going to say it – YES, PLEASE!
Now that Beavis and Butt-head has returned to MTV, many fans have been wondering if creator Mike Judge would bring back the beloved character of Daria, who got her start on the original run of the series before getting her own spin-off, and although he originally said no – due to the network not allowing him to be involved with her standalone series when it launched in the ’90s – the overwhelming cry for her return has made him re-consider!
When asked about her possible comeback, he explains:
I’ve been asked that question so much lately that I was thinking maybe we should bring her back. I always liked that character, but my producers at the time said, “You know, we├óΓé¼Γäóre thinking of spinning this show off,” and I thought, “Oh, that├óΓé¼Γäós a good idea.” But they became determined to do it without me, I guess, so they went and hired all these people — I had no idea. So I was a little pissed off about that, and I just disassociated myself with it. I liked the character, and I know they had a couple of great writers on that show, so it must have been pretty good, but, yeah, a lot of people seem to want that character back.
YES! YES! YES!
This generation of youth needs her just as much as they need Beavis and Butt-head!
Nothing sends us into hysterics faster than them calling her “Diarrhea!”
Now, let’s all enjoy some of our favorite Daria moments together (above), in hopes that she’ll be back – sooner rather than later!
