This is so incredibly touching yet so, so sad.
21-year-old Mike Petrosino has been battling Ewing’s Sarcoma since 2006, a rare form of cancer that attacks the bones and soft tissue.
While he initially showed signs of improvement, doctors are now saying the cancer is terminal and he has already started saying goodbye to family and loved ones, including his beloved dog Rusty.
Mike’s brother John Petrosino snapped a picture of the touching moment and said:
“Rusty was very emotional when Mike said his finale goodbye. Every time I come home these past two days, he sits near Mike’s favorite couch and whines.”
The photo has since made its rounds throughout the internet and has since gone viral.
Friends close to Mike say they have been amazed by the strength he’s shown in their final visits and that he’s been unbelievably brave throughout the whole process.
There’s no word on how much longer Mike is expected to live, but our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family and this time.
