Miley Cyrus Sings Hilary Duff & 'High School Musical' Classics!

Miley Cyrus Hilary Duff High School Musical Disney Channel Songs

We love it when Miley Cyrus gets nostalgic.
Usually that means the Wrecking Ball singer gives us some Hannah Montana cosplay or throwback pics with proud poppa/still number one mullet of all time champ Billy Ray Cyrus.
But on Tuesday Mileybird went for a different kind of nostalgia.
Yes, it was still over the pop culture of the 2000s, but this time it was showing love for other Disney Channel stars of the time.

In a series of videos on Twitter, Miley rides in the backseat and has her own private episode of Carpool Karaoke.
First she tackles the work of a singer with a Disney Channel show about a high school girl with an alter ego…
No, this time it’s Hilary Duff! Watch Miley belt out the appropriately titled So Yesterday (below)!

LOVE this!
Of course, it also makes us realize we never got a Lizzie McGuire/Hannah Montana crossover, for which we will never forgive The Disney Channel!
Sure, Lizzie McGuire ended in 2004, and Hannah Montana didn’t even begin until 2006, but that’s no excuse! LOLz!
BTW, see the OG Hilary Duff music video for So Yesterday (below):

Up next?
Miley moved on to some of her Disney Channel contemporaries, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron.
That’s right, she paid homage to the megahit that was High School Musical, even captioning her vid:

“This shaped a f**king generation.”

Watch her version of Breaking Free (below):

Amazing!
LOLz, we also can’t help but notice she’s making her own pyrotechnics there.
She’s really hitting those high notes, if you catch our drift.
And if you catch her drift, you may get a contact high! Ha!
Anyhoo, if you’re feeling extra nostalgic after that, here’s the full original version of Breaking Free from High School Musical:

Next she tackled one more High School Musical joint, the Stick To The Status Quo song.
This time she tagged Ashley Tisdale as well, and this time she had a message that sounded… less complimentary?

In case you didn’t catch it, Miley said:

“I’m glad in 2019 we’re challenging this garbage.”

Is she calling the HSM songs garbage? Or is she agreeing with the spirit of the song, challenging the status quo — calling that garbage?
That latter interpretation certainly jibes more with her apparent enjoyment of the classic tracks.
Speaking of which, the OG Status Quo:

Oh, and for those who don’t remember, Hannah Montana did actually have a High School Musical crossover of sorts. Miley made a cameo in HSM 2, which you can see at about minute 3:40 of All For One:

What’s YOUR favorite track from a Disney Channel artist??
