Who on EARTH would think this is funny?!
Just despicable!
After receiving a phone call claiming that shots were fired and a possible kidnapping was in progress, members of the Los Angeles Police department were dispatched to Miley Cyrus‘ home last night in Studio City, only to find out that the entire ordeal was a prank phone call!
The actress was thankfully not at home at the time of the incident, as she’s visiting boyfriend Liam Hemsworth in Philadelphia while he shoots a new movie, but according to Sgt. Jim Parker, the incident is the most recent in a trend of hoaxes called “Swatting,” during which someone uses the emergency system to try and get a S.W.A.T. team deployed to the victim’s home!
Don’t get any ideas, though!
Not only is it completely STOOPID, but it’s also a crime, and the person responsible for making the call in this instance is facing serious charges.
And they’re lucky that no one was hurt or killed, because then it would be considered a FELONY!
Just awful that with everything that already goes on in the world, people would be so foolish to deliberately waste the police force’s time, money, and resources with this kind of foolishness!
