We have a feeling Gilmore Girls fans won’t be very satisfied with this answer!

Following the classic show’s hit Netflix revival, Milo Ventimiglia opened up to Interview Magazine about the #TeamJess phenomenon and his true feelings on Rory’s hotly debated love life.

Milo, who actually dated Alexis Bledel in real life, says he has mixed feelings on who Ms. Gilmore should have ended up with at the end of the series. It’s pretty ironic take considering the actor’s fictional rival Jared Padalecki (Dean) just admitted to being 100% #TeamJess!
As for why Mr. Ventimiglia isn’t fully aboard the #TeamJess train, he explained:

“I get it all the time, like, ├óΓé¼╦£Are you Team Jess? Who’s your team?’
…For Rory and who she was, I was always interested more in what does she want to be for herself? What is she going to achieve for herself? It isn’t reliant on the guy that she “ends up with.” It was one of those things that I never really thought about in great detail, other than what she was going to do in the world of literature or business or anything else that she excelled in. [That] was much more interesting to me.”

Well, Jess always has been the biggest supporter of Rory’s writing career and personal life. We guess art does really imitate life!
Despite the 39-year-old’s wishy washy feelings on the issue, one thing is for certain — he will always have a soft spot for Jess and the series’ creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino.
Speaking on his deep ties to the show, Mr. Ventimiglia gushed:

“I stayed close with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino. I pretty much would go to the ends of the earth for them. So when Amy called me to say, ‘Hey, we’re doing this,’ I was like, ‘Great. I’ll be there. Just let me know.’ And I let my team of guys know, ‘I’m going back to do this, so whatever I’m working on, let’s just work out the time to do this.’ It wasn’t a decision really based on creativity├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥like I had a need to play Jess Mariano again├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥so much as it was exciting to me to be able to speak Amy and Dan’s words again, because I think they’re genius and they’re personal friends. For me it was just another opportunity to get to work with people that I admire, respect, and really love.”

How sweet! We know a lot of the cast feels similarly to Jess. Er, Milo.
As for our beloved Rory and Jess ship, we guess we’ll have hang on to the few shreds of hope Amy and Dan gifted us with in the revival. You never know what could happen in the Stars Hollow universe!
So, what do YOU think of Milo’s take on #TeamJess?
