The more we hear about the days before Mindy McCready’s suicide, the clearer it becomes that she was struggling to deal with unimaginable pain.
It seems that Mindy was doing all she could to hold onto the spirit of her boyfriend who had recently committed suicide, David Wilson.
In fact, she claimed to her friend, Danno Hanks, that his ghost had come to visit her.
She revealed:
“You know I haven’t told anyone this. Not one person, but he was here. He was in my room last night.”
But this is much more tragic than it sounds as the country singer had actually discussed this possibly happening one day with David after they watched the movie What Dreams May Come — where a dead man tries to reconnect with his wife in the afterlife as she had committed suicide. Mindy explained in her phone call to Danno:
“I have been expecting him. We talked about this. We talked about this… a week before he died when we watched that movie, What Dreams May Come. And I said to him: ‘David, if I killed myself… if I ended my life and it was over, would you come find me? Would you find me? Would you go through hell to find me?’ He said he would go through anything to find me.”
Mindy ended up committing suicide in the same place where David was found dead by possible suicide.
We hope they both have the peace they couldn’t find while they were alive.
