Mira Sorvino Says A Casting Director Gagged Her With A Condom When She Was 16 -- WTF?!

no title
What. The. Fuck???
Mira Sorvino was speaking on the Hollywood Foreign Press Association‘s HFPA In Conversation podcast on Wednesday when she revealed that at one of the very first auditions of her career, a casting director allegedly gagged her with a condom!

The actress, who noted she was just 16 years old at the time of the alleged incident, shared that she was auditioning for a horror movie when the casting director allegedly tried to “get her in the mood” for the scene.
First, he tied Sorvino to a chair and allegedly bruised her arm, and when he felt that didn’t work, he gagged her with the condom, apparently to… do what exactly?!
What the fuck, seriously?!?!
The story, from her own words (below):

“In looking back over at my career, I realized that one of my very first auditions when I was 16, I was completely treated inappropriately by the casting director. In order to scare me for this horror movie scene, he tied me to a chair, he bruised my arm, and I was 16 years old, and then he gagged me, and I was all game because I’m trying to be scared for the scene. And at the end he takes the gag out of my mouth and he said, ‘Sorry for the prophylactic,’ so he had gagged me with a condom.”

Sorvino declined to name the casting director or the movie in question.
For what it’s worth, the first credited movie of her career was The Stuff — a 1985 comedy-horror film that would have been released when Sorvino was about 18 years old… and it’s about a “mysterious goo” that “oozes” from earth and is eaten as a tasty treat, turning people into zombies.
Hmmm…..

Regardless, Sorvino — who has also accused Harvey Weinstein of inappropriate behavior in the pastrevealed more about the disgusting, old inner workings of Hollywood (below):

“There’s that aesthetic of letting go of the self and trying to submit yourself for the art. People take advantage of that. People have always taken advantage of that. Like nude scene days or love scene days — all of a sudden contracts being thrown out the window. Extra people on the set, coming close. Weirdness. A lot of weirdness. Directors pressuring you to have relationships with them, people casting you saying if you have a sexual relationship with them they’ll give you the part. That has happened to me several times.”

Ugh…
At least these stories are finally coming to light — even if there are no legal ramifications in most cases, can we at least change the system once and for all?!?!
