We are so saddened by this.
Angel Babcock, the tornado “miracle baby” who was found alive in a Salem, Indiana field after being thrown 10 miles away from her home when a tornado blew through the area and destroyed her home, has tragically died.
The entire family of the 15-month-girl were also killed in the tornado.
On Friday, Angel was found alive by a neighbor, next to the bodes of her family members. A helicopter was called in and took her to the hospital where she was placed in critical condition.
After two days on life support, her grandmother, Kathy Babcock, had to make the terrible decision to take her off life support. Angel died on Sunday.
Kathy described Angel’s last moments:
“I had my arm around her when she took her last breath. I sang to her itsy-bitsy spider.
We were all around the bed, I had my hand on the side of her, and I reached for her hand, and was holding her hand. I don’t know what made me let go but she put her arms straight up, she was daddy’s little girl. So daddy picked her up and took her. The whole room seen that. He was just like, standing in front of her. She wanted to go with daddy.”
The Babcock family is now left to face with burying five of their family members.
It’s hard to not tear up when reading about this story.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Babcock family. We can’t even imagine what they’re going through right now.
