An 8-year-old has been safely returned home after going missing. The crazy news isn’t that she was found at a local Target — but that she DROVE HERSELF there!!!
A Bainbridge, Ohio mother’s worst nightmare came true over the weekend when her young daughter went missing from home. She quickly called the Bedford Police Department about the matter, and they mobilized right away. But around the same time the PD received another call “concerning a small child driving east on Rockside Road,” according to Fox 10. Police were eventually able to track down the 2020 Nissan Rogue at a Target 10 miles away from where the little girl lives, and inside the store was the car thief — AKA the missing 8-year-old! We’re serious!
According to the police department, the child drove her mother’s car to the store to go shopping. And a neighbor’s Ring camera even picked up the moment she left in the car!
In a humorous take on the situation, the BPD shared on Facebook:
“Well I’ve finally found a woman who’s in more of a hurry to shop at Target than my wife. More of hurry by 8 years. That’s right an 8 year old took mommy’s car this morning and drove to Target in Bainbridge to shop. Thankfully she made it and was immediately located by Bainbridge Police. She’s now home safe. Not sure what she bought, or if she was even able to use her Target app to save 5%. We did let her finish her Frappuccino. We’re not mean.”
HA!
Apparently, the trip wasn’t entirely without incident — the girl admitted to crashing into a mailbox on her way.
Everyone is laughing now, but we hope everyone involved learned a lesson here! She could have been involved in a serious car accident! 10 miles is a long drive! We’re so glad she’s okay.
