What an inspiring moment!
Friday, the parents of Mishell Green went on The View with Derrica Wilson, chief of Black and Missing Inc., and pleaded with America to help find their missing 16 year old daughter.
Mishell went missing nearly 6 months ago after receiving permission from her mother to attend an after school program in Manhattan. She never came home.
Fifteen minutes after the segment aired, an anonymous tip called Wilson and Mishell was returned to her family in hours!
Mishell’s family returned to the show and talked about the emotion of their reunion. Mishell’s mother read a letter to the ladies, thanking them for accepting her story.
No one knows if she was kidnapped or not, but the family insists she did not run away. Mishell isn’t ready to speak on her ordeal as we can’t imagine what she went through.
Whoopi Goldberg initially brought the idea to the table as children of color rarely receive headlines when they go missing.
Everyone, from the family to the hosts to the producers, preached how powerful national media attention can be.
