Moakler Doing Good

Yes, we’re tired of hearing about and talking about that fake-tittied, gay rights-hating Miss California, Carrie Prejean. Especially since the lovely and intelligent Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton, won the title of Miss USA.

She won – and nobody is talking about her!!!

But, we are very happy that as a result of Miss Cali’s small narrow-minded views on equal rights, the spotlight has now been placed on the very important issue of the way gay and lesbian Californians (and most in America) are treated as second class citizens.

Fighting for that cause is former Miss USA, Shanna Moakler.

Earlier this week, Moakler along with two other former pagean titleholders, posed with duct tape over theirs mouths for a pro-gay marriage PSA promoting equal rights and NO on California’s Prop 8.

And, now, Moakler’s doing another campaign, this time titled I Believe.

The campaign was produced by The Miss California Organization and includes about a dozen former Miss Universes and Miss USAs.

According to Shanna:

“It’s a campaign trying to show the diversity of California and really spreading equality. The Miss California Organization’s slogan is ‘The Beauty of California’ and that represents everything. That’s what we try to celebrate in our organization. I’m really proud and excited about it. I think it’s really important that people understand that though Carrie Prejean is allowed to have her opinions, they don’t necessarily coincide with the Miss California Organization.”

Nice to see people working for a good cause.

Carrie Prejean was “too busy” to attend the PSA taping for equality.
