Moby is back in the studio and he is not using any electronics for his new album! Instead he’s opting for drums, acoustic guitar and piano.
Inneresting. He says:
“I really like trying to record a record with such specific restrictions placed on the creative process. At present the one rule is: no electronics. So everything has to be playable/recordable in the acoustic realm (with microphones).
“There’s something really satisfying about being in an old studio using old microphones and old pre-amps and an old mixing desk and recording in the way that people recorded 30 and 40 years ago.”
Sounds like a worthwhile musical endeavor, but should he be abandoning the genre that gave him all his success?
