Things have been pretty shitty for the NFL the last few days.
Two guys from its Super Bowl winning Giants ran into gun related trouble with the law this weekend.
Then, on Tuesday, the league had to suspend six players for violating its steroid policy.
Only six guys in the entire league?
Those guys probably weren’t filled in on the new way to fight steroids tests!
Sucks to be behind the curve!
According to ESPN, the suspended players are running back Deuce McAllister and defensive linemen Charles Grant and Will Smith of New Orleans; defensive linemen Kevin and Pat Williams of Minnesota; and long snapper Bryan Pittman of Houston.
When the league tested the pee pee of these six guys, they apparently found a diuretic, which can serve as a masking agent for steroids.
Word of the first positive test apparently leaked in October. People are puzzled that it took almost two months, with only four games left, for the league to dole out suspensions.
An NFL suit said, “I think if you ask most coaches, every game is important. I don’t think they’d differentiate between the first and the last. We do have things in place to get them done as quickly as possible. But we had to deal with the number of players involved and adjust travel schedules. We have to fit it around the players’ ability to attend.”
Uh huh. Sure, Mr. Business Man!
