More of Moore, Please!

As we mentioned a while ago, Julianne Moore was chosen as the new face (and body) for BulgariΓÇÖs 2010 ad campaign.
And although we think the 49-year-old looks hawt posing semi-nude with some purses, apparently the people in Venice, Italy didnΓÇÖt feel the same.
VeniceΓÇÖs mayor Giorgio Orsoni claims the image is too indecent. Adding, ΓÇ£An advertisement showing a nude woman on a divan is not appropriate for St MarkΓÇÖs Square.ΓÇ¥
The president of the Venice Foundation added:

ΓÇ£I take account of the fact that Venice is part of the real word … but we cannot accept these Hollywood-style images. There are intelligent sponsors, and we need to come up with advertising that suits Venice, not Times Square.ΓÇ¥

IsnΓÇÖt a photograph like a piece of artwork? With Italy being known for several of the worldΓÇÖs greatest masterpieces, many of which are fully nude, it seems a bit hypocritical to us.
Why take issue with a photograph of Moore with her private bits covered?
We smell a publicity stunt. Anything to get into the media and draw more attention to Venice, right Orsoni?
