Zac Affleck Breaks Silence On Jen Filing For Divorce, Then She Fires Back By Releasing JAW DROPPING Recording Of Him Saying WHAT?!

Holy s**t.

Zac Affleck broke a major cardinal rule when he did this! No wonder Jen was over it.

This week, news broke that Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jen Affleck had finally filed for divorce. Fans figured there was trouble in supposed paradise when, back over the summer, she shared a video from her wedding day set to Fleetwood Mac‘s anthem about heartbreaking life changes, Landslide. She also captioned the video with a quote about grief, so it didn’t take a rocket scientist to assume what was coming next.

We’d also seen the two go through their many ups and downs over the years on the Hulu reality show.

Well, a day after the headlines hit, Zac took to TikTok to break his silence. He confirmed the news in a video to his followers, revealing he found out himself via TMZ:

“Alright guys, I wanted to come on here and address everything that’s been happening. I don’t have a PR team, I don’t even have a manager right now, but I feel like this is the right thing to do, so I’m just going to speak from the heart.

Yes, it is true that Jen filed for divorce yesterday, and it is true that I found out from a TMZ reporter about the filing. But regardless of that, this is something we’ve been talking about for a long time. Jen came to me about a year ago, after Dancing with the Stars, and told me she was unhappy and wanted a divorce. I basically begged her to stay. I told her to work on things, fix things, and I’d become however she needed me to be. Ultimately, we couldn’t make it work, and it sucks, because I really do love Jen, and I still love Jen.”

He continued, waxing poetic about the ways he admires her:

“When I first met Jen, she had this light about her unlike anyone I’ve ever met. She really does have such a good heart, and I will continue to support her and be her biggest fan. I really do believe in her. Whether it’s acting, singing, or wherever she goes, I believe she’s going to be successful.”

Calling himself her biggest fan? Yeah, that didn’t sit right with Jen, who, in response, shared a video from 2022 in which he’s criticizing her postpartum body, telling her she shouldn’t post the video she’s trying to make because her “tits” are “sagging” and more. WTF.

Watch for yourself:

She captioned the video, “He was never my biggest supporter” — an obvious direct reply to his video claiming otherwise.

In the footage you can hear Zac say:

“Hope you’re not making a TikTok looking like that. Your boobs are literally like… Your tits are sagging all over. You don’t want to post that, baby. I’ll tell you that right now.”

Heartbreaking.

A husband should never negatively comment on his wife’s body, but especially not when she literally just birthed A CHILD. The audacity!!

Needless to say, fans called him out about it in the comments of his own video. One said:

“if my husband told me my boobs were “saggy” 2 weeks after giving birth I’d never forgive him.”

To his credit, he responded and owned up to the mistake:

“This was a video from 2022. Obviously horrible and should have never been said. When I saw the video today I was absolutely shocked I had said that. I said a lot of horrible and hurtful things but I have tried my best to learn and grow”

Well, at least he’s taking responsibility for it.

In the rest of Zac’s video, he told followers his priority is navigating next steps as co-parents. After all, Jen is still pregnant with their fourth child. He said:

“At this point, we’re just trying to figure out what’s next and how we handle this with the kids, and that’s really my priority. Probably the thing that’s eating me alive the most is that I feel like I’ve failed my kids, and I’m worried I’m going to cause them damage. I just hope we can still give them a normal childhood. As far as that goes, Jen and I are definitely on the same page about wanting to give them the best life we can, and about being teammates and working together to do that.

I really do hope and pray for the best for her. I don’t want anyone speaking badly about Jen. I’ll be the first to say I’ve made plenty of mistakes in our marriage, and it just really was time for us to go our own ways. We got married so young, and it sucks, because I really did feel like we had something special when we got married. But life happened. We had four kids, and we signed up for reality TV, on a show that’s really hurt a lot of people’s lives. Marriage is hard. Having your marriage in the public eye is hard. Raising kids is hard. I think over time we slowly lost that spark.”

We do think it’s a good sign he can own up to mistakes like his postpartum comments and not try to make excuses for them. He may not have been the best husband at the time, but now he has a chance to be a great co-parent outside of marriage.

Wishing them both success with their new parenting dynamic as they move forward.
