So Incredibly Awful! Mother Admits To Police She Fatally Stabbed Infant Son!

This is just… we don’t even know what to say.
A mother named Ashley Newton from San Jose, California was arrested on Saturday after she admitted to police that she fatally stabbed her 7-month-old son in a Northern California park.
The East Bay Regional Parks District Police Department have arrested Newton on suspicion of murder, and yet the motives for such an atrocious crime are horribly unclear.
The chief of the park’s police department Timothy Anderson echoed our own thoughts when he said:

“This is an extremely shocking case for us.”

Police were initially called in after someone reported Newton’s damaged vehicle near the Del Valle Regional Park east of San Francisco. It was then that the mother walked up to police holding her deceased child.
Officers attempted to save the infant boy, but were unable to do so. Newton was subsequently arrested after she implicated herself in the murder. Police also recovered what they believe was the murder weapon – a knife – near the scene of the crime.
The murder happened in Camp Arroyo which is about 45 miles east of San Francisco. While Newton is in jail, without any hope of bail, police are interviewing family members and friends trying to understand how such a shocking event could happen.
Many have cited the mother was severely depressed, and police noted she seemed to have self-inflicted cutting scars on her wrists.
It’s such a horrendous crime though. We’re not sure anything will ever explain what happened that led to this travesty of such awful proportions.
