Mr. JT Makes Man Scent

It seems like every week there is a new celebrity launching their very own fragrance.
This week, Justin Timberlake has teamed up with Givenchy to create the new scent, Play.
This isn’t your typical celebrity fragrance collaboration, however: when first approached by Givenchy, Justin politely declined, explaining that he didn’t wear much cologne. “I think, honestly,” he says, “they took it as a challenge to create something that I would really want to wear.”
From there, the fashion house taught him the ABCs of fragrance based on his likes and dislikes: “I’m sort of a minimalist, quintessential male. I like pretty fresh, clean scents. I don’t like a barrage of smell, so I started talking about how do you achieve that fresh, clean scent? And they ‘learned me’ about citrus and wood flavors that you kind of add in to create that type of aroma. It’s actually really fascinating how they do it.”
Paying homage to nature was also important for Mr. JT: “I sort of feel like nothing should take away from pheromones, because it’s been chemically proven that those are the most attractive scents on people,” says the prince of pop.
The result? Justin says they have come up with a cologne that is “youthful and fun,” and “sensual.” GF Jessica Biel is a fan, so that’s a good sign! The scent is available now at Macy’s and Sephora.
