MSNBC Sees Spike In Ratings For First Night Without Keith Olbermann

The numbers are in and it looks like MSNBC didn’t suffer in the ratings on its first night without Keith Olbermann.
An average of 1.5 million viewers tuned in to watch Lawrence O’Donnell take over Keith’s timeslot, which was up a little under 50 percent from Olbermann’s average number in that hour.
Right now, we assume MSNBC execs are feeling pretty good about their decision. Will they still feel so prideful, though, if the numbers plummet next week, when the initial novelty of having a new commentator wears off?
We shall see!
