MTV's 'Are You The One?' Star Alexis Eddy Dead At 23

Alexis Eddy dead at age 23.

This is so sad.

Alexis Eddy, a former contestant on MTV‘s Are You The One?, has died at 23 years old.

The news was confirmed on Thursday morning by the Mannington Police Department after the reality star was found dead in her home state of West Virginia. As law enforcement officials told E! News:

“This happened around 7 a.m. this morning. We were called for a report of a woman in cardiac arrest. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was transported to Fairmont Regional Medical Center. This is an active investigation, so we cannot determine if there was foul play or not suspected at this time.”

Alexis rose to popularity after appearing on the sixth season of the competitive dating series while it was filming in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2017. At the time, she was just 21 years old.

In the wake of Eddy’s untimely passing, the network has also released an official statement which reads:

“MTV is deeply saddened to hear about the tragic loss of Alexis Eddy. Our hearts go out to her family and friends during this difficult time.”

Within the last year, the young star was very open with her social media followers about her sobriety journey and being in recovery.

Back in September, Alexis tweeted two side-by-side photos with her dad to celebrate their personal health achievements. On Twitter, she wrote:

“Guuuuuys look at this pic of me n my daddio finally sober together [crying emojis] pic on the right was two years ago… what a difference. So very blessed today. #RecoveryRocks”

Ugh. Despite early struggles with substance abuse, it sounded like she was hard at work at getting better with a positive outlook on her future.

That same month, she also shared an Instagram update about being clean and sober, too:

What a sweet soul that left the world way too soon…

As we mentioned earlier, no cause of death has been determined yet and the investigation is ongoing. Toxicology reports will hopefully provide a better idea of how things turned tragic for the starlet.

Late last year in October, it was revealed that Alexis was engaged, but her announcement post appears to have been since removed from social media.

As expected, a few of Eddy’s castmates have already begun sharing tributes to her online.

AYTO star Ethan Cohen described his last encounter with Alexis in a series of tweets. In addition to sharing a cute video of them together, he wrote:

“Literally talked to Alexis yesterday about how much better her life is sober. Just don’t even know how to feel right now. Can’t believe we’ll never have another heart to heart convo.”

Meanwhile, Alexis’ “perfect match” on her season, Anthony Martin, shared loving words about her, too:

“Blessed to have had you as my perfect match. Wouldn’t change it for the world. You’ll forever be missed. Rest In Peace beautiful.”

Our thoughts are with Eddy’s family during this difficult time. R.I.P.
