A woman filed a major lawsuit against MTV this morning for “invasion of privacy, false light, disclosure of private facts, and intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress.”
According to sources, the woman was recently featured on an episode of The Real World: Washington D.C. and she wasn’t exactly seen in the best light. But Golzar Amirmotazedi alleges that what was shown on TV wasn’t how things actually went down. She says she was served “several alcoholic beverages, then humiliated and thrown out of the house when she refused to have sex with one of the cast members.”
How awful! That maybe how things are done on The Jersey Shore, but certainly not on a television institution like The Real World.
Anyone who appears on the show must sign a waiver so MTV can avoid being sued, but Golzar says that she was too intoxicated to lawfully sign it and the producers know it. She is now seeking $5 million in damages for her humiliation! Her official complaint states:
“Outtakes from the Real World… show that Plaintiff in fact was not in a position to provide her consent to Defendant portraying her in a false light or disclosing private facts about her.”
You sure you want to go down this road, girl? Unless they forced fed you tequila in a funnel, we don’t see how you getting drunk and making a fool out of yourself is grounds to sue MTV.
You have no case. Might as well accept the shame and move on!
