What a concept! MTV driving actual music sales!
While the public’s reaction to Kanye West‘s behavior during Taylor Swift‘s acceptance speech seems to be the most talked about stunt at this years VMAs, the music itself is also receiving some recognition.
All of the performers at the awards show are seeing a HUGE increase in their music sales including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Jay-Z, Pink and of course Taylor Swift, who’s iTunes sales went up 80%!
Popular British band and Twilight soundtrack standard Muse also performed for the first time on American television and the sale of their album skyrocketed as a result of the VMAs.
Everyone really did put in top-notch performances that night even if other events may have overshadowed them!
