The music of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins is headed to the stage with the upcoming show Million Dollar Quartet, scheduled to run this coming spring.
Million Dollar Quartet has been doing very well since it’s October opening in Chicago and producers are expecting the same for Broadway, aiming for the success that Jersey Boys has achieved.
The show is based on the 1956 jam session between the four musicians brought together by record producer, Sam Phillips, of Sun Records in Memphis.
The score includes “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Great Balls of Fire” and “I Walk The Line” – among other popular tunes of the time period.
Million Dollar Quartet is set to run in Gotham with dates and casting still unannounced.
This sounds mildly entertaining and will undoubtedly feature a great soundtrack…could be a hit with the baby-boomer crowd!
Are U looking forward to seeing Million Dollar Quartet?
