During the premiere of her latest Nanny McPhee movie, Emma Thompson revealed some significant casting news for her remake of the 1964 classic film My Fair Lady. Emma has tapped Carey Mulligan to play the iconic role of Eliza Doolittle.
It’ll be the role of a lifetime for Carey, but she doesn’t stand a chance of living up to Audrey Hepburn. That’s the problem with remakes – they never hold a candle to the original.
As for Professor Henry Higgins, Emma Thompson has an idea of who she wants that we want flushed out of her pretty head immediately! She says:
├óΓé¼┼ôI love Hugh [Grant] so I’d love him to do it. He might want to, he might not want to, so we don’t know yet. But hopefully we’ll make it later this year.├óΓé¼┬¥
Upon hearing her say this, Rex Harrison rolled around furiously in his grave!
