On Tuesday, Naomi Watts took to Instagram to wish her ex Liev Schreiber a happy 49th birthday. The sweet message comes on the heels of their surprising split earlier this month.

In the post, Ms. Watts shares a precious shot of Liev with their two sons in New York City. Based off the actor’s white t-shirt covered in paint hand prints, it’s clear he’s a great poppa!
As for the caption, the beauty gushed:

Cute! We bet L.S. appreciated the sentiment, especially since he wished Naomi a happy birthday when she turned 48 a few weeks ago.
While we’re not sure why these two couldn’t make it work, it’s nice to see they still appreciate each other.
