Just days A DAY after it was announced that the U.S. Navy would allow chaplains to perform same-sex marriages on bases located in states where same-sex marriage is legal, the Navy has revoked those privileges rights.
A memo, issued by the Chief of Chaplains Rear Admiral Mark L. Tidd, read:
“My memorandum of 13 April 2011 is hereby suspended until further notice pending additional legal and policy review and inter-Departmental coordination.”
The suspension of the memo written almost a month ago happened on Tuesday after some serious Buzz Killingtons cried to their mommies government, insisting same-sex marriage would violate laws prohibiting federal recognition of gay marriage equal rights.
Fortunately, military officials said the US Defense Department might STILL permit gay troops to marry in military chapels in states that recognize homosexual marriages after President Barack Obama lifts the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.
We’re keeping hope alive and our fingers crossed that these conservative negative nancies don’t let their bullshizz get in the way of equality for those who put their lives on the line for our country.
