As we’ve mentioned, the people behind the Emmy’s are trying to cut to the chase this year.├é┬á As a result, 8 of the 28 awards will be recorded about 45 minutes before the show goes onto TV.├é┬á
This has caused a lot of unrest as writers and producers worry that their work will be brushed to the side, but the show’s host, Neil Patrick Harris, begs to differ.
Neil says, “It’s not like they’re happening on a different evening and they’re all just going to be montaged together.├é┬á We’re just trying to edit down the standing and the hugging and the walking down the aisle.├é┬á Quite frankly, the writers’ speeches are some of the best ones of the night.├é┬á So, we’ll be able to highlight them more than anything. There’s just some boring parts of that that we’re just trying to trim down.”
Inneresting!├é┬á But who decides what’s boring?
The How I Met Your Mother Star is still excited to host regardless of the controversy, saying that hosting an award show is “like you’re hosting a big dinner party, Dean Martin-style.”
We can’t wait to see how it all plays out!
