We can’t get enough of him!
Neil Patrick Harris has signed on to star in Stephen Sondheim‘s Company, a musical about a bachelor, his love life and his crazy married friends. It will be presented by the New York Philharmonic in April.
Of course, Harris will play Robert (aka Bobby), an un-pin-downable single man celebrating his 35th birthday. It’s similar to his character Barney on How I Met Your Mother.
NPH said:
“I think one could see Bobby as a bit of a playboy, a sort of serial dater without much behind it. I don’t know that Barney has the deep-seated desire to couple up like Bobby probably does. But then again, Bobby doesn’t have to respond to laugh tracks.”
Performances will run from April 7th-9th and will be produced and directed by Lonny Price.
And Neil is almost as excited to do it as we are!
He added:
Sondheim fills “every beat and note and moment with some intention. It just allows the performer a great opportunity to mine as deep as they choose. My day job requires a shallowness that will be fun to play against.├óΓé¼┬¥
Ha. Can’t wait!
