Yup! The most hated character on the show, the guy who raped Hannah and Jessica but in a total Law and Order SVU “ripped from the headlines” twist was only sentenced to three months, is now DEAD.

Not only that, he was murdered, and the mystery surrounding his death is the question that drives the entire plot of Season Three.

Suddenly Liberty High is in Neptune and this entire show has become Veronica Mars. Or maybe Pretty Little Liars? In any case, yay! Murder mystery! LOLz!

For real though, the overwhelming response we’ve seen from former fans who had long since written off the show is a whole lot of intrigue at this twist of an inciting incident.

Funny enough, if Netflix does manage to bring back its audience, it won’t be for long.

The same day the streaming giant dropped the Season Three trailer, Variety reported the show had been renewed for a fourth season. A fourth and final season.

The outlet’s insiders don’t have any info on what the heck Season Four will even be about, but it seems clear the showrunners have a clear idea what they’re doing for the upcoming third season — especially after the critical failure that was Season Two, which holds a shockingly low 25% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

One of the biggest mission statements going forward seems to be how the show will treat suicide.

Netflix recently drew controversy once again for going back and re-editing the infamously graphic suicide scene from Season One.

In a statement, the company explained:

“As we prepare to launch Season 3 later this summer, we’ve been mindful about the ongoing debate around the show. So on the advice of medical experts, including Dr. Christine Moutier, Chief Medical Officer at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, we’ve decided with creator Brian Yorkey and the producers to edit the scene in which Hannah takes her own life from Season 1.”

That was not an isolated decision.

According to Variety there will be NO SUICIDE AT ALL in Season Three.

Are those reasons enough to get YOU back to the show when it returns on August 23??
