Earlier this month, we were bummed to report that Katie Couric and BF of five years Brooks Perlin called it quits.
At the time, we had heard that it was a result of “compatibility complications,” but now a source is saying that the REAL reason for the break-up was family drama.
According to the source, Katie’s daughters Ellie and Carrie didn’t think that Brooks “could ‘measure up'” to their late father Jay Monaha, who passed away due to colon cancer back in 1998.
Whether or not that was the main reason of the break-up, we can understand how it could be difficult for Katie’s daughters to adjust to a new father figure in their lives, and we’re sorry that things didn’t work out.
