Last week we were glad to report that model Lauren Scruggs, who was injured by the propeller of an airplane, had finally started blogging again.
The 23-year-old lost her left eye and left hand after walking next to the plane’s propeller when exciting the plane.
Now we├óΓé¼Γäóre finally hearing reports of what happened from the pilot’s point of view.
The pilot, who has yet to be publicly identified, is said to be Curt Richmond of Texas.
According to a preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Administration, Richmond:

“Leaned out of his seat and placed his right hand and arm in front of her to divert her away from the front of the airplane and the propeller.
He continued to keep his arm extended and told the passenger that she should walk behind the airplane.”

After he thought she had safely cleared the plane, he “returned to his normal seat position” and shortly after heard someone shout “Stop, Stop” which is when he shut off the engine and saw her on the floor.
As for Scrugg’s family, they reportedly do not blame the pilot for the accident.
On a positive note, we’re glad to hear Lauren is recuperating well despite the horrible accident.
