Warner Bros has a new direct-to-video movie called Scooby-Doo: Frankencreepy.
Normally, we’d bet it’d be another good ol’ fashioned mystery full of ghosts, ghouls and Old Man Whoever in a monster mask.
This time though, things got a little… fat shamey.
In the film, Daphne ends up cursed and she transforms from a size 2 to a dreaded size 8!! That’s disgusting seeing as how the average American woman’s dress size is 14.
The actual message in the movie is about self-acceptance and realizing how beautiful we all truly are.
Heck, even Fred doesn’t notice or care about her weight gain.
But still, do they have to bring specific dress sizes into things? Do we really need to declare that a specific dress size counts as “fat?”
We understand it’s just a kids’ movie but we feel the writers need to think more about the message they send.
