New Year's Eve Is #1...During Worst Box Office Weekend Since 2008!

Come on, people! The movie starred Zac Efron! What happened?!?!?
Despite the fact that every celebrity EVER made an appearance in New Year’s Eve, that still couldn’t save it at the box office this weekend, which was the worst weekend for box office revenues in over THREE YEARS! Ouchie!
New Year’s Eve DID come in first place at the box office…but it only grossed a disappointing $13.7 million.
Here’s what Warner Bros president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman had to say about it:

“The box office was just in really bad shape. While we had the No. 1 movie, we were No. 1 in a very soft market.”
“There weren’t enough moviegoers, and the only thing you can hope for is that the big Christmas films, which start to kick in next weekend, help to pick up the pace.”

Ah well! Maybe things will pick up for New Year’s Eve in the coming weeks!
What did U see over the weekend???
