NYC Aquarium May Need To Evacuate 12K Animals Due To Hurricane Sandy

Over 12,000 marine animals could be without a home due to Hurricane Sandy.
The New York Aquarium is Coney Island is without full power like much of the city and they are in dire straits.
The aquarium is flooded and the animals may need to be evacuated while workers work on restoring filtration and life support systems.
It is unknown if any of the animals (over 300 species) have died however new arrival, Mitik, is known to have survived.
Hang in there, folks! We’re sure the aquarium can pull through!
