Newborn Giraffe Named After Yao Ming At Houston Zoo

Yao & Yao
Houston Zoo just got a brand new baby!!
Yao is a 139-pound male Masai Giraffe that was just born to 5-year-old mom Neema and 6-year-old dad Mtembei.
They must be so proud of the not-so-little guy!
He’s already 74-inches tall! That’s 6’2″!!
So his name makes too much sense. He’s called Yao after basketballer Yao Ming!
Yao is all about conservation and saving animals so we bet he’s honored to have the new baybay named after him.
The baby made it’s public debut last Saturday and now joins the other 8 giraffe guests at the zoo.
He’s just so friggin cute we don’t know what to do!!
Congrats on the new baby!
